How you get your new high paying job? You learned a skill? Went to college? A cert?

I'm literally just on my way and I turned 30 a few months ago. Next week I start my new job, and I already know the bills I wanna knock out for the next
3 months. Literally 3 months of work pays off the most pressing debt I have, and I can stack. As long as I resist the temptation to get an apartment, I can
have enough bands to get my own house by 32.

@bucks3115 Don't even worry about it. A lot of people have more things in place but are farm from having their lives "in order."

If you have a house/apartment and car but zero savings in case your job goes, is your life truly in order?

If you are chronically underemployed, not doing what you feel you should be, is your life in order? Even if you cover your bills?

Do you have the relationship you want with a woman/man and your family?

Is your health where you want it to be?

Like I've said before i'm 30 and I'm about to make the most money I have ever made *without* having to work 2-3 jobs. I actually have a career path. I checked around on facebook

the past few days...and I know from conversations with friends I grew up with...we have people who went to amazing schools, had way better work ethic than I do and 11 years after HS,

many aren't doing anything of note. Bartenders, secretaries, etc. I think for some of us who dragged our ass, we don't realize how many folks live pretty mediocre lives, we just want

to catch up with the winners. Don't worry about that shyt. Get on your grizzind and focus on the future. I know I am.

I believe 25-30. But remember, you determine what having it together means to you. And based on what you determine...that will help answer your question.

Some people want a certain amount of money saved or a nice paying job. Others simply want to be self- sufficient. Then you have people who overall value their happiness and won't feel like they've made it until they have a job they actually like. Sometimes having it together requires you to have a level of self- awareness that is rarely achieved in your early 20s.

For me, being self-sufficient and in a job that I am okay (not necessarily happy) being at for years means I've got it together. I got to that point at 27. Once you get to that point, you have to put safeguards in place to ensure you don't go backwards. If you get a new job, make sure it is better than the last (and not a major downgrade financially). If you lose your job, you should have an emergency fund to cover you until you find another job.

I can't complain. Finish college and had a pretty good job at 23(broke as fukk until 23/24). Now at 28, I am aiming higher. If this hook up comes through, I should be fine but I want to switch gears and own my own shyt. Working for someone makes your life so damn robotic. You will always be at the mercy of some corporations. It's tragic. My parents always pushed on me, get th degree, get the great job from a youngin but I wished they also preached to be very innovative. That's where the real money is.

Definition of life in order to me:
Physically/Mentally/Spiritually healthy
Immediate family are healthy, financially comfortable
Have a least $100K in savings
No longer paying mortgage or almost done
Very little debt
Earning at least $250K/year from main job
Earning a good amount of money from passive income
At least half a million in retirement account

...I'm 28 now...I hope I can accomplish that by 40

Truth is, it will be hard in India. They are racist as fukk and they are more likely to hook up someone they know or family member.Half the times, they don't know shyt. They only know buzz words. I have dealt with Indian recruiters, their goal is to get someone Indian for the positions. That's why I dont care about them getting screwed over by Trump H1b visa, I dealt with too many rudes ones.

A+ cert, a dope and clean resume, and luck. I have a lot of PC repair and troubleshooting experience so I checked job descriptions and filled all the ones I knew I could perform
or learn within a reasonable amount of time.

On the other hand, I had to put out a lot of resumes...waking up and putting out 10, and come back home from work and do 10 more. Applying to new positions, and old ones
that were still posted months later.

Needless to say, I did not fill all the "requirements" in the job description, but the A+ cert was enough to bypass that, and my knowledge in-interview sealed the deal right there. I have no
college degree, and am in no rush to get one. Its on my agenda, though.

If you look at Jack Ma's case 35 if you're self-employed or otherwise don't want a normal civilian life. Probably the same age for ordinary people considering wages are stagnant, millennials have to live with their parents and you're not making great money and have enough worldly experience until then.

your stars are but dust on my shoes
I knw alot who became successful after 30s

Right, but did they live through their 20s without doing anything meaningful? Certainly the saying isn't going to apply to everyone, but I think it's a good one to live by: most folks can't let their strongest years slip by. You don't have to be 6 certs 6 figures 6 series by 30, but you definitely have to be on your way to making something of yourself.

If you wasted your first solid decade as an adult, are you really going to change that in your 30s? I'd bet most people couldn't.:jbhmm:

I'm not even sure the point of the question, genuinely.

Isn't the obvious answer 'as soon as possible'?

If you're not on your shyt, it doesn't matter what age you are, it's time to make a plan to get on track. Likewise, you're obviously never too young to have your life in order.

Personally, I've been on track since 18, and making great money since 19. I'm only 20 now but making valuable connections and more money than like 90% of Americans ever will.
