Atheist brehs, how did your parents react when you told them/they found out you were an atheist?

I don't identify with "atheist", more agnostic, but it seems to be all the same. My mama has told me straight up, I'm going to Hell My pops was a bit more cool, like "Yeah you're coming back around "

I think because he clearly understood what I didn't at the time; and that is, the fact that black women ain't really fukking with that shyt I'm good with things as they are familywise... My main concern is finding something with the women

Had a conversation with my mom one day cause she was doing a project on religious doctrine, and it came out that I was agnostic. Wont say there is no God/Supreme Being, but cant say there is one either. She understood wholeheartedly and it didnt change anything. We as humans have to admit we don't know a goddamn thing, and that men wrote the rules and stories that became "religion." There is reason for skepticism.

I've questioned the very Christian beliefs since I was a kid, so they have to know something. As I've gotten older, I just choose not to even talk about it because I don't feel like going through the headache and the "I'll pray for you"

I have a bf that shares my non beliefs, and everyone else can go waste time chasing a unicorn. I just wish they'd stop posting about it on Facebook all day.

My dad didn't care cause he isn't really that religious himself

my mom was just kinda like "whatever" but she's religious in the sense of community and vaguely in the notion that something is "out there" etc.

my grandma is who i'd never tell cause she'd probably die on the spot.

atheism is different from agnosticism.

It doesn't go: Theist - agnostic - atheist

Agnosticism answers the question of what you KNOW, theism is what you BELIEVE.

So i'm an agnostic-atheist.

I don't know if god exists (agnosticism) but based on the lack of evidence I do not believe one does (atheism)

This is not to say that I know there is no god...I can't prove that. Merely I don't believe the assertions that there are.

You're either agnostic or gnostic. And you're either atheist or theist

Theres no "in-between"
