Between about 2005-2011, without a doubt. Recently it's been the Ratchet Music that has took over hip-hop, which is really slowed down hyphy music with better slang.

E-40 one of my favorite rappers, but you can't say the Bay Area to Texas influence was one way, in the 80's/ early 90's Texas Rappers and Bay Area Rappers fukked with eachother so hard they all influenced eachother. Texas has Bay Area influence and The Bay Area has Texas influence.

Oh and Houston hasn't influenced sh1t but sipping liquid heroin. Only lame NY niccas hopped on screw sh1t 7 years after it was dead to everyone but people in H tine.

I respect their movement but their sh1t was hot for 2 years and that's generous. Who was the last successful Houston rapper?

If you're talkin From 2003 to now then you might have a point. Houston is overlooked as far as influence but I think that has more to do with the fact that most of them H-town guys that came out around 04/05/06 done fell the fukc off!!.

Ehh anybody from the outside looking in wouldn't know, but Houston failures musically are as much because a lack of talent. Talented Houston rappers just don't tend to make it out, because has a poor local music support base. A lot of cronyism and nepotism among the musical gatekeepers, no major media outlets for hip-hop, and poor fans. I used to say most kids in Houston, don't want to be from Houston, they wish they were in New York or L.A.; it actually took a New Yorker (A$AP Rocky) to make the Texas Hip-Hop culture cool to a lot of people actually living in Texas.

Two OF the most, but not the two most.

Early Houston SCREW material and the rise of Organized Noize are their best respective work, IMO.

Cities breh? :usure:

Houston? Nah...much respect to them & their music, but they haven't really influenced anything since the middle of the last decade.

:mindblown:

You can't be serious breh. Houston essentially birthed the "southern rap" style. The influence is so strong you have effeminate jews from Toronto and cross dressing fakkits from NY (Asop Rocky) trying to pervert it.

Houston is second to maybe NY when it comes to influencing this rap game breh. Pay ya respects nikka.
