E-40 one of my favorite rappers, but you can't say the Bay Area to Texas influence was one way, in the 80's/ early 90's Texas Rappers and Bay Area Rappers fukked with eachother so hard they all influenced eachother. Ehh anybody from the outside looking in wouldn't know, but Houston failures musically are as much because a lack of talent. Talented Houston rappers just don't tend to make it out, because has a poor local music support base. A lot of cronyism and nepotism among the musical gatekeepers, no major media outlets for hip-hop, and poor fans. I used to say most kids in Houston, don't want to be from Houston, they wish they were in New York or L.A.; it actually took a New Yorker (A$AP Rocky) to make the Texas Hip-Hop culture cool to a lot of people actually living in Texas.

Houston? Nah...much respect to them & their music, but they haven't really influenced anything since the middle of the last decade.
You can't be serious breh. Houston essentially birthed the "southern rap" style. The influence is so strong you have effeminate jews from Toronto and cross dressing fakkits from NY (Asop Rocky) trying to pervert it.
