in retrospect, how the fukk did Atlanta get an Olympics?

don't you remember the IOC scandals around that time? Salt Lake City only got the games because they were paying their Olympic fee's in hookers.

I bet the Atlanta committee had the voters up at Magic City. :shaq:

That was two years before I moved there as a kid. I remember being an adult last year having to navigate inside the Perimeter when a Hawks game, a Braves game, and fukkign Comic Con was going on. shyt had me like :to: and

So U could only imagine Olympics traffic :wow:

You realize most of us arent 40+ right. Most of the people on this site were in high school and below.

You was in the read and I head to fix that. :what:

i was 6 then and i never appreciated how big it was to have the olympics
now that i think about it, all of the worlds greatest athletes coming together and competing in an event that happens once every 4 years, right here in the ATL

thats my city man:to:

i was 9

i remember being in memphis when they ran the torch through earlier in the summer

then i went to visit my family in atlanta for 2 weeks for the olympics. saw a lot of stuff you didn't have to pay to see (bikes, longer runs, outdoor events).

does anyone else remember that blue mascot they had? those things were EVERYWHERE. i remember it on shirts, hats, stuff animals, posters, all sorts of stuff.

the fountains were fun too, i spent a lot of time there

i was downtown with family the night the bomb went off, we heard the low rumble, but we weren't near it.

also, recently i remember hearing a rumor that they stuck all the homeless on greyhounds and sent them to other cities (chattanooga, knoxville, birmingham) right before the olympics to clean up the city really quick. which is hilarious.
