It amazes me how many people's cars get searched when they get pulled over.
My cars been searched once in like 15 years.
I wonder if police have some intel before they actually search the car
They led the police on a chase for 2 miles before stopping, which is enough for probable cause right there. As well, they admitted to having drugs before the car was even searched and consented to a search, which the police didn't even need at that point. That doesn't mean the police couldn't have had a tip though. They were pulled over for following too close, which is rare. You usually only receive a ticket for that after hitting someone from behind in an accident.
What's likely to happen is he will get a long ass probation but they probably won't drop the Felonies down or he will have to do a couple of months to a year and have them dropped down to misdemeanors.
I'm guessing he won't spend anytime in jail. If his dumb ass wouldn't have said anything and asked for a lawyer, he would have been in a much better position. You ask for a lawyer as soon as they put the cuffs on and don't say anything. He probably still has a chance to say he has a drug problem and get in a drug intervention program. Dopeboys been using that trick for years on non trafficking charges. Then they get to go to a halfway house and run shyt and get they clientele up cause they around nothing but fiends
