I am on Sugarloaf by Sugarloaf Mills, so I am further out. Your right there near Stone Mountain and the city of Atlanta.
Im kind of out too. That’s a nice area up where you’re at. I used to live a bit east of you by northside (GMC) before I bought a house.
Norcross is the closest to Atlanta out of all Gwinnett. Gwinnett is also the 2nd most populated county in Georgia. I drive to the opposite end for work and it’s 50ish minutes both ways smh.
I’ve always said I have no dog in this fight because I spent all of my childhood moving every 6 months to 2 years until I graduated. I don’t really claim anything lol. The argument about what constitutes this one metropolis still blows my mind til this day lmao.
Then again I remember what Atlanta/decatur schools were like when we came back here in 98’. My classmates roasted me for being able to fluidly read aloud and insisted the name “Sean” was pronounced “Seen”

This real Atlanta argument ain’t gon never die until somebody add the definition of a “metropolis” to the curriculum

it’s a fun debate. No different than the east side vs west side songs back in the day. We happy shawty is spitting and reppin the city.
.. you can’t keep moving the goalpost on who you accept and who you don’t accept, it’s corny as fukk. The “Black Mecca” term that gets thrown around belongs to the METRO of Atlanta. Gwinnett, Cobb, and Dekalb are the places out of towners move to when starting fresh and making a family, not the actual city of Atlanta.
