I kinda fell out of love with baseball after my heroes retired(Griffey Jr, Frank Thomas), so I thought this day would never come, but lo and behold, it's about to happen. I'm in Dallas right now on a mini vacation visting fam on my break. I'll be attending the Pirates/Rangers game tonight(6:15) which is perfect. No hot Texas sun beaming down and I'll get to see Andrew McCutchen(#blackexcellence) as well....

As this being my first game, I don't know what to expect, other than expensive parking and concession. I'm actually looking forward to the concessions stands... I saw a special on the Food Network(I believe) where they showed all of the exotic foods that these vendors sell at these ball parks. shyt was crazy!

I'm not familiar with all of these Rangers fans located in DFW on here, other than, I think @jadillac. Let me know what's up!!!

Enjoy, breh!

Can't wait to get back to Philly in two weeks to catch my beloved Phillies in action, I used to have season tickets before we moved.

A day at the ballpark can be complete nirvana...

First game in person was August 10th, 1995.
A doubleheader and we stayed for both games.

The Indians swept the Yankees.

Mike Stanley hit 3 HR in the 1st game but Kenny Lofton hit a big-time triple in the top of the 9th and Cleveland scored 5 runs in the inning to win the game 10-9: August 10, 1995 Cleveland Indians at New York Yankees Box Score and Play by Play | Baseball-Reference.com

The 2nd game wasn't as fun. But in the bottom of the 4th inning, Darryl Strawberry hit a rocket HR. To this day I feel like that's the hardest hit ball I've ever seen. The Indians won that one 5-2: August 10, 1995 Cleveland Indians at New York Yankees Box Score and Play by Play | Baseball-Reference.com

To be honest, I'm going because it's just something to do while I'm waiting on the Memorial Day barbecue and a bucket list activity. Those who know me on here know that I'm a BIG OU football and soccer fanatic. I'll probably only go to one more MLB game in my lifetime.... the Cardinals whenever I go back home. I really wanted to see an MLS game while I was down here, but FC Dallas is on their road schedule until the end of next month.

My next professional games will be a FC Dallas match, Cowboys game and a Thunder game (next seaon).

As far as college... Ohio State vs OU in Norman.... LIT!!!!

My first game was Randy's first no-no vs. the Tigers in the Kingdome. That place was about to implode that night:merchant:

Awesome first games!

My pops was a basketball player, so that's that... and my lack of desire to go to an actual game in my youth was more to blame than my father... I was a football kid... and I didn't go to my first college football game until 2013... still haven't been to an NFL or NBA game either.

TV was enough for me!

Have fun! I love going to games. I don't even remember who we played at my first game but I do remember I made Mike Piazza signs. I try to do at least 3 a month and my team tends to be all over the place so they can either lose in an embarrassing shutout or hit homer after home. The unpredictability keeps it exciting :sabomets:

I suggest pregaming. And don't be scared to get loud and excited. It's part of the fun :metsnas:

Agreed to bad there taking that experience out of the majority of new stadiums so that the people who dont care about the game can go to concession stands and still see whats going on. Completely kills all the buzz and noise in the stadium as well.

I went to three games as a kid, all Yankee games even though I'm a Mets fan :dead: (Only Mets fan in my family and one game was a school trip)

I'll never forget the school trip game in 05, game went into extra innings and it started raining :wow: it was a day game.

I remember we was throwing peanuts at some dudes sitting below us on some :troll: tip :mjlol: makes me :laff: :laff: whenever I think about it.
