Bout to start shopping for a coupe soon, s5 been my favorite looks wise (not sure how everything will play out after test drives) but Audi just hitting for too much cash...I can afford it, but my frugal Bay Area roots be having me question if I really want a car note/lease payment, let alone one hitting for $500+ a month. If I wanna cop used, how far back should I go? 14? 15?
Mid-cycle refresh started in 13' (B8.5) so definitely no further back than that, unless you want the previous version with the v8 instead.

I would say try to aim at a 15' cause atleast that way you get the remaining factory + additional 2 years if you are buying CPO from an Audi dealership.

Looking at picking up a 2018 Audi S4 in Black, Prestige edition in the next 3 months. It'll have every option except the cold weather tech because i want the flat bottom steering wheel instead .

This would be my exact interior:

This would be the exterior:

It'll be the first new car i have ever bought my self in my life so its a gift for my hard work. Going to get all the chrome blacked out. Tint the windows just a bit, lower it just a smidge, and ride that bytch forever.
That's the exact combo I would have done if I had gone with the B9 S4. Red + Carbon and Black exterior, can't go wrong. Good choice.
