Audio of Big L’s voicemail and Flyer that was sent out to invite people to his Roc-A-Fella signing party, scheduled 3 days after his death.

The same Jay who famously never cared to give Ye a shot as an artist?
He literally has him on the hook of "Never Change" before Kanye had a solo single record out

And Big L's a street rapper in the vein of Beans, Bleek, State Property, etc.. why on earth would he have a problem with that?

It's guys like Nas who never put anyone in their prime that you have to worry about sabotaging others careers. Just ask Cormega and Nature

Nas used Nature to sabatoge Cormega’s career. FACTS! No one ever talks about this shyt though.

There was no way Nas was going to let ‘Mega go track for track with him over Dre beats. Mega outshined Nas on every track they were both on.

Nature was nice. I supported him. But his delivery style alone told us he was never going to be a commercial success. Which was the point (thanks Nas!).

As much as it pains me to say this, Cornmega is no where close to Nas. Cornmega has possibly the worst flow in hip hop history. He should stay writing for Nas.

I wonder if L gets involved in 'The Beef' (TM) too :ehh:

He literally met Kanye in 2000
By 2001 ye was on hooks for BP
By 2002 he was featured on a Jay album. All because Jay appreciated the fact Ye asked him

They act like he wasn't on the hook of "Never Change". And didn't became a household name off the strength of Jay shouting him out all on those first two Blueprint albums

If Jay sabotaged a rappers career like Nas did Nature or Cormega you wouldn't hear the end of it. They barely give him a pass for Amil

All because he didn’t wanna sign a fukked up deal with Steve Stoute.

He was telling artists not to mess with Mega as well, which Nore confirmed.

But shoutout to P and Hav for not falling for the blackball game and providing Mega with a lifeline

This all gets brushed aside because it was Nas and not Jay

Punchline rap? He woulda been Chino XL.
Chino XL didnt have no commercial appeal and L was more than punchline rap, he had commercial potential and was a masterful storyteller. He would've been putting shyt out along the same lines as Nas and Biggie. Jay would've been pushed further down the ladder.

Schooling people takes forever; don't bother
this is an old debate people used to have:

if Big L signed with Rocafella, Big L would have been vocal enough to talk Jay-Z out of dissing Nas on The Blueprint while everyone else at rocafella fell back and let Jay handle his business, but technically, Nas aimed at Jay on Come Get Me on nastradamus that Jay mockingly replied on Come and Get Me on In My Lifetime vol 3 after Nas saw Jay with Carmen....Big L died in Feb 1999 and all that stuff happened after he died

Big L on Kanye beats would have been something to hear...also, Big L on Rocafella would have made Cam'Ron step up his pen game on Purple Haze given that both of them were from Children of the Corn and we wouldn't have gotten computers putin'...Big L on the Roc would have siphoned both Kanye and Heatmakers beats to make his album instead of for dipset and roc artists
