Audio of Big L’s voicemail and Flyer that was sent out to invite people to his Roc-A-Fella signing party, scheduled 3 days after his death.

Imagine hearing L on You, Me, Him, and Her, 1900 Hustler, The Roc (Just Fire), Welcome To NYC. I could picture a Big L and Jay back n forth on a track like Show You How To Do This Son, just the 2 of them on their arrogant shyt talking filthy on it! shyt the collabo with Dipset on prime Heatmaker beats alone>>>>

Chino XL didnt have no commercial appeal and L was more than punchline rap, he had commercial potential and was a masterful storyteller. He would've been putting shyt out along the same lines as Nas and Biggie. Jay would've been pushed further down the ladder.
Neither did L. I heard L rap. All I could think was he birthed Fabulous

They act like he wasn't on the hook of "Never Change". And didn't became a household name off the strength of Jay shouting him out all on those first two Blueprint albums
Most people did not know it was him on the hook (song wasn't even a single).

He became someone AS A RAPPER thanx to his 1st album, not Jay.

Punchline rap? He woulda been Chino XL.
Hell nah! Chino XL never had the charisma, style, and commercial potential like Big L. Chino's claim to fame will always be Pac giving him a half a bar at the end of Hit Em Up. Although I do feel L's debut was just okay, he was hitting his 2nd wind by the time he died. I saw him transitioning well into the 00's and having the potential to drop a real classic with Roc-A-Fella behind him.

Big L on Roc would have been so dope for the underground to see him targeted more to the mainstream but still maintain that hardcore essence :wow:

Jay wanted M.O.P. Way back before they dropped First Family 4 Life but they were loyal to Relativity before merging with Loud.

Crazy to think about all these what ifs & yet Jay still had arguably the greatest label run in history :whoo:
