Reminds me of the WPA Slave Narratives.
Those made me cry.

fukking amazing. I KNOW it's true but it still seems unbelievable to me that slaves have been alive during my father's lifetime.

Between the audio and reading Voices of Slavery I'm amazed at the disposition of these folks. They never seem really mad about it even after describing how terrible slavery could be. Boy they take their time but old black folks may be humanity's GOAT story tellers.

Growing up down South it was always nice to hear the elders in my family share their experiences... I knew my great great grandparents on both sides of the family. They dropped so much knowledge on how to identify and move around inherently evil people. It's part of the reason I could never have relations with anyone but a Black man. Love is colorblind my ass...
