So Austin Aries went on The Tomorrow Show and during the interview, he talked about the protests going on in the NFL, and why we probably won't see any protests in the WWE.

411MANIA | Austin Aries Weighs in on NFL Protests, Says Trump Has to Be More ‘Self-Aware’

On why you won’t see wrestlers protest the way NFL players are: “It’s a little different I think, in some ways. I think my point is that in the NFL right now, if you take a stand and if your owner doesn’t like it, you’ve got 30 other teams you can go play for. And your performance and how good you are would base, it should unless your Colin Kaepernick, if you have a spot or not. In our situation it’s a little different because you don’t have those luxuries, so more guys might toe the line there for fear of not having a job.”

On the protests themselves: “It’d be nice if we did [protest]. It’d be nice across the board because I think people are missing the point of what this is about. If you’re a patriot you should 100%, whether you agree or disagree, be for the right for these people to do whatever they want, even if you feel disrespected. When you say they’re disrespecting the soldiers, that’s off-base [because] these soldiers have gone and put their lives on the line so these guys have the right to do this. When I went over there and visit these soldiers you realize a lot of them don’t agree with why they’re over there doing this, they don’t agree with the reasoning, but they’re doing their job so we all have the right to have these choices.”

On Trump’s reactions to the protests: “And Trump has to be a little more self-aware, especially when you look at the sports he’s attacking. He’s basically telling them, ‘Hey you owners, get your slaves back in place and you tell them when they stand and when they kneel and if they don’t, you fire them. If they want to make money off of us, then they do what we say. Except for those very fine people in NASCAR.’ And NASCAR only has one minority driver full-time, just one black driver.”

I think Austin's explanation is spot on. In other sports or entertainment avenues, if you don't like your bosses politics you can't go to another team, TV show, movie, etc.

In wrestling (and MMA) there's only one place you can go to make the most money possible. This also goes along with the discussion that guys don't take chances anymore because they don't have another territory to go to.

As NFL players continued to protest during the national anthem this week, Triple H opened up about how protests would be handled in the WWE.

Colin Kaepernick began taking a knee during the national anthem as a silent protest against racial injustice, inspiring some other players to follow suit. The protests became more widespread two weeks ago after President Donald Trump's controversial comments in which he referred to players who protest as "sons of b-----s." The protests are currently a major point of divisiveness, as the players have been accused of disrespecting the American flag.

According to Express, Triple H said while he personally wouldn't protest during the national anthem himself, the WWE respects the rights of others to do so.

"I speak for myself, personally only, and if it was me I would stand for my national anthem. For my country I would stand," he said. "But I and WWE certainly respect the rights of everybody's first amendment right of freedom of speech, their right to peacefully protest and do what is meaningful to them. Certainly we support that."

Triple H is the Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative for the WWE, so his opinion holds a lot of weight behind the scenes. He pondered whether there would be a way to protest that would be suitable for everyone.

"I question whether there would be a better way to do that, that maybe wouldn't offend others or something else," he said. "Surely we respect that line."

Other wrestlers have also discussed the possibility of protests during the national anthem in the WWE. We reported last week that Austin Aries believes wrestlers would toe the line out of fear of losing their job. Sean Waltman also pointed out that wrestlers are usually in the locker room when the national anthem is played prior to an event.

If you got no issue with it, then do an angle about it. :sas2:

I don't understand how you can protest in pro-wrestling.
I mean its like a stage show, you wouldn't expect to watch a movie, a tv show, or a stage play and see people coming out and kneel or hell even hear the anthem play to kneel or shyt.
So it seems weird to me in that regard.
