Im sure he said it in a humorous fashion (even tho Ive never seen Austin Rivers have joy or happiness) but damn man :russ:

Naw, they really aren’t close at all. There was an article about how strained their relationship is a while back. It was actually pretty sad to read.

“He and I don’t know each other like that. We know each other as strictly basketball. A lot of people on the outside don’t understand that because people think we have a relationship like every other father and son. We just don’t. That’s because he’s been gone my whole life, and that’s fine.

Austin always shytting on Doc as a father as though Doc didn’t do the main thing a father is supposed to do for his son - set up him up for success as an adult.

The fukk? I can tell you don’t have kids... That ain’t got shyt to do with nothing.. Doc was a shytty dad and if you read between the lines he was shytty emotionally.. kids need more than just a dad who’s providing financially.. Physically being there ain’t cutting it.. You got to put in the time and that’s pretty much what Austin is saying

This nikka Doc basically SAVED Austin’s career and took on alot of scrunity and drama doing so and his half a Cac son repays him by throwing subs:gucci:

He owned that shyt to Austin that’s why Doc did it.. he was trying to make up for the shytty parent he use to be..

Already got vibes that Doc wasn't a good dad. Damn, rough.
Yep a horrible dad who kept his sons career alive and gave him the only good deal he could’ve gotten.

Austin, the way his career started, might’ve been out the league if it wasn’t for Doc bringing him to LA and then giving him that contract.
