He's still doing better than Kendall Marshall

:lolbron:

He was ranked ahead of Marshall and drafted ahead of Marshall, he's supposed to be doing better.

But lets be real, Marshall would do more if he got Rivers minutes.

He's actually not. As the saying goes, better to be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

:childplease:

A pass first point guard that can't average 1 assist per game for a sub .500 team and spent the past month sleeping in a Days Inn???

Atleast Austin tripped over a 27 point game a couple of weeks ago that he can one day show his mullato grand kids...

My point is, we have no idea how good or bad Kendall is. I'd rather be a question mark than a nikka who has gotten the time and been terrible with an exclamation point.

Let's be real.. Marshall would be getting minutes if he could play...

Austin was drafted 4 spots ahead of him.. They are both lottery picks, both half breeds and both garbage...

4 spots is pretty significant in terms of how lotto picks perform and what the expectations are.

Like I said, better to be thought a scrub than to get 30 minutes a game and remove all doubt that you're one.

But you know who does?

nba_g_gentry01_576.jpg

The Suns are starting a new free agent they just shelled out big bucks for at PG, aplayer who is actually a bonafide starter. Laustin couldn't even beat out Greivis for the PG job, and with Gordon coming back he's about to see those minutes cut.

Kendall will be a better NBA player than Laustin, bank that. A lot of successful players sat on the bench during their first year. Just like a lot of bums got 20-30 minutes, but fell out the league.

No, but I did make the argument for every nikka who is a first year player not getting minutes vs. first year players getting 30 minutes and putting up historically terrible numbers. 100 out of 100 times, I'd rather be the nikka on the bench in that case.

It's like Kriss Kross looking at Mobb Deep back in the day like "yo, do y'all nikkas even have a video on BET yet?"

Time will tell...

LOL @ advanced stats in basketball. All these metric nerds are trying to become the next Bill James, but its so laughable. Advanced stats work in baseball, because you are talking about an individual event between batter vs. pitcher. Variables exist (defensive adjustments/strength of lineup), but its largely a one-on-one unit of analysis that is highly quantifiable.

Basketball, there are millions of variables going on at one time on the court, and a player is highly dependent on teammates and coaching strategies no matter how good he is. Throw these advanced stat b-ball nerds in the bushes.

Austin Rivers has no moves, he does the same weak ass jab step fake when he catches the ball, and he can't get by anyone with ease.

I've caught quite a few of the Hornets games and he's either dribbling right into the defense and throwing up some dumb shot, or he get's cut off by his defender and has to pull it back out and reset the offense.

It's looking like a terrible pick early on, and he's definitely not a starter in the league. Dude should be coming off the bench for sure.
