I've been smashing like crazy lately, told the girl(s) I'm seeing that I needed to lock down and focus on work. Trying to take a break.
So much for that, I'm knocking some shyt out cold tonight.

Yup.
The only Olympic athletes that get paid good money....either play in a big league (think NBA/WNBA etc) or they live in a country that shells out $$$$$ for good athletes to get medals.
I know the U.S. pays almost nothing. You gotta be hella committed to that shyt. Track can pay well if you go pro and make dough on the big circuits, but that's the top tier.
You gotta do hella training to be in peak form in any sport, which requires time and a need for flexibility....but many of them need to work regular jobs to support themselves. Sponsorships for the 100M gold medalist are easy. Not so much for a random middle-tier (by Olympic standards) power lifter or cyclist.
I assume it’s because the US always fields the most athletes out of all the countries, and usually has the most medalists.
