They took a covid free version of the spike protein and let it attach to cells and found that it still causes damage to cells in the body. So the method of transmission and the virus itself are both problems

The only reason the protein in the vax doesn't hurt you is because they added something that prevents it from fully growing into it's phase that allows it to attach to your cells.

Who knows if mishandling the vax or a bad batch, can cause issues that allow the protein to continue growing into it's final form
