You half right, but you can't blame us...our generation got beat over the head with promises of high pay with degrees :yeshrug:

But, even if things changed, there still is no pay for that hard labor anyway. These factories still trying to pass off $14-15 an hour as a liveable wage...it aint and especially not in warehouse 100 degree heat.

It's on them to provide benefits for the labor like they did with the boomers and covid is showing them the need to do more right now.

Skilled Trade is different than Hard Labor though. Completely different jobs

Children are the most expensive time consuming thing in the world, but the poorest among us tend to have the most children.

I mean this was a movie but It does have some similarities to real life:

the poor around the world have more children largely because they lack the sex-education to prevent it or resources(birth control, condoms, IUD's, plan-b) too as well.

i'm not surprised smarter individuals would make more thoughtful choices regarding bringing a child into this world, taking into consideration what they'd need to begin caring for said child.

The cost of healthcare is a huge factor. Also the cost of daycare. Which is understandable to a point becuz daycare providers gotta eat too. That’s really the biggest expense with kids unless they have health issues. Outside of that kids ain’t really that expensive especially when they are potty trained

Some people out here paying 1k a month for day care for one child tho
:picard:

That enough to make a lot of people think twice about kids
Having kids as a middle class family is difficult in states like California. When you earn too much for government assistance and the cost of everything isn't subsidized for you, you really understand how much kids really cost.

Healthcare is like having an extra car note payment and daycare is $200 a week minimum. Having kids right now is only appealing to poor people and 6 figure earners.

Had to chuckle at this. It ain't just a third world thing.

Make a thread asking if poor people deserve to have children and look at the responses you get.

Bet you on the first page you'd be called a koon or to go back and tell ya great grandparents to kill themselves:pachaha:

I wasn't referencing the 3rd world specifically, it applies to everywhere.

I'm not even arguing poor people shouldn't have children. I'm saying providing for the care of children shouldn't be as much of a burden as it is now.

well unemployment did happen, but they got stimmy checks and the economy while still down is growing but birth rates aren't keeping pace.
lol stimmy check ain't enough to raise a child and the economy is growing because the rich are getting richer.

so yeah, not a lot of people are rushing out to have kids. :yeshrug:

Mainly the rich think about having more resources for their kids. Poor people basically feed and clothe their kids and that's about it. It's not that they love their children any less but the idea that they have to plan to pay for their children's education is a pipe dream. Besides they had to get it how they live so they expect their children will figure it out too.

It might make more sense to live in Austin than San Francisco.

There was never a time in human history where the rich didn't get richer. Well the only times where in massive depressions.

They also have access to a safety net in first world countries that basically guarantees their living conditions stay the same regardless of children.

It's a big financial hit for anyone else.

I posted an article from the newspaper of record are you telling me that the writers of the article are making a case against feminism?

Way before any "ism" Machiavelli wrote about the decline of Rome and other countries talking about the lack of Virtue basically he meant Decadence and it happens to all societies as they become successful. If you said it's corny to put the blame solely on feminism you might have a point but female choice is a factor.

I'd like to hear a discourse from @Booksnrain on this.
What happened? Lemme catch up.:ohhh:

Edit: oh never mind. This is one of them threads about shyt I’ve been saying on this website for centuries. While dudes get in their feelings about it.

It’s pretty simple to understand. Most of this has to do with women having different or better opportunities besides fulfilling traditional roles like they did in the past.

Access to higher education and employment for women means decreases birthrates. There maybe some countries able to balance it out probably because they didn’t have toxic ass cultural standards against chicks in the first place. But for the most part, that’s the trend.
Economics impacts this as well because materialism is rampant and people think they need a gazillion dollars to live well. So they think they are too poor to have kids. Also a lot of millennials are lazy AND our economy and job market sucks. It’s a perfect storm.

But for people with hustling spirits, you can thrive.
