Are you stating that America will never improve the technology of its roads? Thats a strange statement to make.
You know they already have technology that meaures weight and pressure to determine if a vehicle is waiting at a red light. And that technology is decades old btw

I'm going by what you wrote
You said they will alter the roads to accommodate the self driving cars. Roads are apart of Infrastructure, correct?
This is the same America that has crumbling infrastructure. Bridges, roads, highways, school renovations, utility electrical poles, underground utility pipes, etc are all 50 years past it's repair date. And you think they are gonna bypass that problem to alter roads for self driving cars?
Tesla has had autopilot for years now, how old is this video.

Nothing is impossible. Even time travel could become a thing in the future. Not like the movies obviously, but if you could build a vehicle that travels faster than light you would theoretically be able to view the past because the images from before that are being carried by the light would potentially still be visible. High speed vehicle plus some highly magnified device equals seeing into the past. Distant descendants from far far far off into the future might be looking at us now from light years away.
