I wonder what exactly was the point of contention between her and Marvel regarding the story. :sas2:
With the stuff Alan Taylor and a few other directors have said publicly about how much Marvel interferes in the creative process and how they did Edgar Wright, I never had much hope that Ava would take the gig.

after seeing the new Terminator Marvel probably tried their best to fix whatever the fukk Alan Taylor did too Thor 2
Taylor's direction was the least of the problems with Terminator Genisys.

:ohhh:
prob explains why they been hiring unkown directors :yeshrug:

Guys they can control and have leverage over..I get it. They run their movie studio like guys run tv shows now, and that's cool because it's worked so far but when you try to bring in someone with a strong creative voice and vision, stuff will clash

Yeah, tv guys who can do good job by doing what they want and doing what marvel wants but then again, there's no real evidence of them doing what they want in any situation since they were always directors for hire. James Gunn, to me, is their true ace in the hole. He's found a way to do what he wants while also doing what they want

Damn, she turned it down :francis:

@MartyMcFly may have been right after all, marvel may want a lot of control.

All speculation of course, but something to consider.

It's not speculation at this point breh...directors have come out and said so. Joss Whedon, Kenneth Brannagh, Alan Taylor, Edgar Wright, and now her. Again, nothing wrong with it if you can find directors who are willing to do that or can mold their vision with the studios vision but a strong voice like hers? Nah she's not doing it

I think Gunn was given a lot of freedom because of how removed GOTG was from the "Great Plan" of the MCU but I am expecting him to get a strong dose of Fiege Interference on the sequel since that movie is going to be more connected. Same goes for The Russos on Civil War.

Joss Whedon was a hack and bad director when Avengers was out but now that he has divorced himself from Marvel and complained after the fact he's visionary director with tons of talent who won't bend to Marvel. Hilarious.

All that may be true, but he isn't the first or second person to say this, it's starting to become a pattern.
