Joss Whedon was a hack and bad director when Avengers was out but now that he has divorced himself from Marvel and complained after the fact he's visionary director with tons of talent who won't bend to Marvel. Hilarious.

All that may be true, but he isn't the first or second person to say this, it's starting to become a pattern.
I really don't care. Marvel can put their track record against any of these 'artists with vision' and come out clean. They make movies a lot of people like and spend money on. These directors cannot say the same.

Yeah I remember you saying Marvel would not make BP so yeah yer uptake isn't stellar. lol
I don't recall saying anything of the sort but maybe I did.:yeshrug:The uber whiteness of the MCU was blinding a few years back.
My confusion was why you came into this thread with your cape on and pitchfork out for Joss Whedon when no one said anything about him being a great director or a shytty one.

Marvel was so white they went with the Black Nick Fury and put him in every movie.
Pay attention Josh is an artist now who won't bend to Marvel, similar to Edgar Wright and Kenneth Branaugh.

Yeah I really enjoyed those multiple Nick Fury solo flicks.
Again you being all mad at Joss Whedon and extrapolating from people mentioning the multiple complaints from directors about working with Marvel that anyone here said anything about those directors talents is what is confusing to me.

Stay confused then. I'm not even mad at Joss Whedon?! Your reading comprehension needs work is the nicest thing I can say.

The fact that Ava and Marvel had contrasting ideas when it came to story is alarming. I hope it was more about how the film fits in or will connect to Infinity War saga and not something else...:mjpls:

Seriously, Marvel runs too tight a ship. I can't knock them too much for it because obviously it's proven to be successful thus far. I feel like a BP film though would benefit more (at least quality wise) from drifting away from the factory/house style.

My reading comprehension is fine. Yours is in question because you are not actually discussing anything that anyone else is in this thread but instead started making posts about shyt no one else was talking about.

And to get back to the topic of a director for BP, I think Scott Sanders (Black Dynamite the movie) would be a good pick.
He is talented but doesn't have a really major resume as a director which would probably make him a good fit.

It could be just the first. Feige loved Wright's vision for Ant-Man but the reason it fell apart in the end is because Wright pretty much wanted a stand-alone movie whereas Marvel got more demanding about integrating the MCU more. And since we already know that Black Panther will be in Civil War and Infinity War, that means story wise there's not going to be much room for the director to do their own thing.

Damn, she turned it down :francis:

@MartyMcFly may have been right after all, marvel may want a lot of control.

All speculation of course, but something to consider.
:yeshrug: its been working decently for them so far. im sure they arent gonna lose too much sleep at night in their money beds over this
