Not surprised to be honest. If DC wants to do a New God's project, do it as a HBO or HBO Max series. Could be another GOT if done properly.

They've announced a Nightwing movie, a Batgirl movie, a Justice League Dark movie, Gotham City Sirens movie, a Secret Six movie, a New God's movie, a Deadshot solo movie, and some other shyt I know I'm forgetting. On one hand I was looking forward to this as any DC movie.
On the other hand there's a chance that fantasy epics just arent Ava's lane either. Would have hated if she caught another L.
I do think her being so busy helped cost her this job though. This is the kind of movie that should have already been started shooting now lowkey. Script took forever.

I was actually surprised WB picked her to direct to begin with. I never saw A Wrinkle but read the plot on Wikipedia and it didn't sound interesting to me. Like I said before, if you're going to adapt the New God's, it should be as a episodic show. It's too much stuff for a two hour movie.

That's not entirely accurate.Jack Kirby birth the idea of Darkseid and the New God's when he was still with Marvel. They were supposed to replace the Asgardians after Ragnarok.
But Marvel tried to jerk him (pause) on his money so he left and went to DC. That's when he created those characters.
But he realized DC was trash so he went back to Marvel and created Thanos/Eternals.

That's false. Jim Starlin created Thanos, who was partly based on Metron before then Marvel editor Roy Thomas suggested he make him look like Darkseid.
