This is a @Liquid idea :

The 2 year anniversary got me thinking of improving the culture of the coli. It's obvious that this is a sports forum first, so why not capitalize on this a bit more?

Let me explain, remember on SOHH how they had "The Binary MC" and it was available as an avatar and even printed on some shirts? Why can't the coli have something like that? Maybe during the playoffs of each sport the logo up top is updated with a coli player image.

Basketball - middle of a crossover dribble

Football - running back running with the ball

Baseball - player holding a bat

Boxing/MMA - fighting stance

Summer Jam - Maybe an MC with the mic (similar to the binary SOHH MC)

E3 - Video Game image

WWE Wrestlemania - Wrestler Image of some sort

All of them should be simple and similar to what "the binary mc" looked like, but just in coli colors. I think it will play well with the community and can make for some pretty clean shirts you guys can sell during the playoffs.

So for example the top image (on the forums would redirect to that specific forum during that short time period)

This does a couple of things:
1 - It focuses on a particular section of the coli and attracts members to sign up during that time to connect with the community during a popular sporting event.

2 - It strengthens the community we have here now and acknowledges a big event that is currently happening in the sport/music/entertainment world

3 - It allows the coli to come up with some avatars that people can put as default when first signing up...again showing a tighter community. This happens all the time without people realizing it...think of it as a "google doodle" space if you will. This can be even further expanded if we want to get crazy with it...important black and minority figures can get a spot too. MLK, Malcom X, Ali (we should probably work on this QUICKLY), Jordan, and others during anniversaries and others...we don't have to capitalize on the idea, but it has an effect on people and gets them talking even more.

Nothing is definite yet and the Higher Powers still thinking about that idea but if the Chop Shop can come with some creative stuff maybe it will push it more efficiently. We may hold a poll with the Chop Shop's creations and let the people decide :mjpls:

I add a few ideas myself :
We have 6 forums, so we can divide the avatars' families in 6 :
- Sport (example : NBA, NFL, footy, boxing...)
- Music (example : mics, rappers, famous logos (Wu...)
- Lifestyle (example : Guuuuuurl, cars, shoes, bodybuilding...)
- Gaming / WWE / TV Shows (example : famous characters, tech logos, famous wrestlers etc.)
- Serious business (example : books, academic cap, trading stuff)
- XXX rated (:shaq:)

All that could be added in the Media section under some "avatars" folder which could give the members a vast choice.

Thoughts ? Otherwise, let's get to work :ahh:

Could you do em to fit the Coli color scheme ?
It may be too much (and I'll let people decide, I'm simply throwing some ideas here) but I was thinking about avatar specifics :
- 200 x 200px
- Monochrome : dark grey + light grey (to be defined, I chose some but it's not definitive)
- '28 days later' font
- Simplistic as possible (like the NBA or MLB logo

Do you think there's too much constraint ?
