that's the point of the story, we watch his character grow. He cries, but you can't say he's not real af after watching him vs muscular
And I think in terms of actual heroism he's got all these cats beat by a mile. Midoriya was out here tryna save Todoroki while fighting him, forfeited his own W to save that man

I know that, I said that's why I don't fw Infinity War tho, not the whole universe
And that's another problem I had with IW, when you take the stakes that high it really doesn't mean shyt to the viewer. A couple key characters dying for real hurts a lot more than the "the whole universe is at stake, everyone dies(so you know they're gonna come back)
" bullshyt they pushedOnce the stakes get that high you lose a lot of the personal attachment and sentimentality and the impact just isn't the same

Deku's willingness to subject himself to that kinda pain not only to win, but to save Todoroki
Their inherent conflicts and differences as characters
The themes of lineage and being trapped by one's own legacy
And when Todoroki finally uses his fire
