Yeah, one of the under-the-radar reasons why Thanos was able to do it really easily when he did it, as he was unwaveringly determined to meet his goal with it, with years in the making to get it done.

The comics and ironically the ang lee version does.
but in the mcu he stays at one level. Otherwise that Thanos fight would've ended with him using one of the stones.
He gets physically stronger but he really cant do shyt to Scarlet Witch or Strange. Thor always fights him though.

In an alternate timeline where loki delivered the tesseract to thanos the heroes lose earth. Thanos conquers the world leading tony to master time travel and set things right.
During his quest he becomes corrupted by the power of worship from less technologically advanced culture and seeks to control all timelines. He is met with resistance by the avengers
None of this would have happened if a previous avengers team from another timeline hadn't tried to stop tony from becoming kang by taking him from his original parents and giving him to the starks.
Another time quest begins as the avengers attempt to return baby Tony stark to his original parents to undo the mess he created by becoming kang
In the ends it's revealed the entire past mcu was an alternate timeline created by Tony stark as Kang trying to stop his timeline from being destroyed by thanos after loki gets the terreract.
Last movie will end with a baby Tony getting a kiss from his real mother ending the birth of Kang and killing the Kang who sits at the end of time and tries to go back to prevent this from happening
