Nah its better to be realistic about the work and commitment it takes than to give them a false sense of hope
The difficulty of programming and computer science is understated.
Most people don't have the logic and problem solving skills to do it at a high level.
Its a profession that ~20% of the population at best could be good enough to hire.

How hard was it to learn? I just bought a book from Amazon how to automate the boring stuff..a python book. I’ve never been in tech or anything just wanted to make career switch
I learned on the job. I had an opportunity to work on a project and the rest is history. Now I manage a data team in FAANG.

quite the opposite breh, I see a lot of people go in with unrealistic expectations (because they read an article or saw the salary) and then get discouraged few days in to their studies.

this can be done by anyone in my opinion but you have to enter with 'I can do it' mindset, that is accepting there's a learning curve in the beginning.

to major advises I can give to newbies

1) You will never get to a point where you 'know it all', so don't be too hard on urself and imposter syndrome is normal
2) Google everything, it's more important knowing how to find solutions than memorizing. Stackoverflow or even youtube are ideal places. Google has never failed me, googling for solutions saves me a ton of time everyday.

I have no problem with that. I'm saying be realistic, but don't tell ppl that they shouldn't do it.

It seems that some folks are in here trying to talk ppl out of going into the industry. I'm saying, I can be realistic with people but also tell them, hey, if you are committed and you have the drive and hunger to learn, and like you said, realize that you will never know it all, then you can gain the knowledge to succeed in this industry. It takes a lot of hard work, but it's doable.

I have to learn python for the cybersecurity bootcamp I'm in. It's not hard you just have to put alot of time into it. And it's frustrating as hell. Spent 2 hours last nite trying to find an error in my client/server script, and it was right in front of my face the whole time. That shyt have u like :blessed: when you finally get that script to run.

This is not true. While there are "specialty" areas of programming that may require math knowledge, MOST areas of programming do not.

I'm starting to think that some of y'all are giving out misinformation on purpose because you don't want other people to enter this field.
Not at all breh... im actually trying to set people's expectations right. You can't be going to a bootcamp and expect the world after that. You have to work hard and have a good mimdset. I'm not in the field but I studied engineering and took programming like many engineers do in their first year. Believe me breh i know dudes who were A students in their field but almost flunked programming cus they didn't have the passion for it.

I took some classes in programming. I know a little bit of Java, HTML, and MATLAB.

If I want to build a website and mobile apps is Python a language I should know about?

If you just trying to build a regular website , that doesn't require storing information..you'll have an easier time with just html, css and Javascript.

To build a website with python , you'll have to learn django/flask and still mess around with css/html and Javascript.

Mobile apps are mostly developed with java/kotlin or swift.
