facts. Dave Ramsey the reason I got an 800+ credit score right now. Can’t front on him. This was a bad take tho
Dave Ramsey got you an 800+ credit score. Someone that says abandon all debt and close all your accounts? Interesting. If you actually followed his advice it would ruin your credit.

nah I had an old book of his where he said to open up 4-5 cards and pay the balance each month. Apply for credit limit increases whenever you can and voila you have a very good payment history and low credit utilization ratio

I doubt you ruin you credit score by paying off debt. It didn't ruin mine.
If you don't use and maintain credit and get rid of all your accounts it will ruin your credit. Part of the reason he tells people to get underwriters that can do it without using a credit score is because once you abandon credit entirely it ruins your credit. The credit system is designed for people to use it and show they're responsible.

He's only saying that because the more in debt and financially broken people there are then the more people will come to him and buy his products :mjlol:

Think about it. If everyone stopped struggling financially then he no longer makes any money

Read between the lines

His baby steps for getting out of debt and budgeting advice is good but anything outside of that you gotta use your own judgement

Dave Ramsey said that? He is vehemently against credit cards, you can't even buy shyt on his site unless you have a debit card. He even thinks the CC rewards system is garbage.

Gang violence...
his show is only good for hearing the really wild stories people tell when they call in. the advice itself is almost useless except for maybe the debt snowball, but even that is only good for people who lack self-control. dave himself has been bankrupt and rescued from the money he owes to other people, so he should understand the value of debt forgiveness.

It's really is mostly the entertainment value of hearing these crazy situations people get themselves into. Another one that was entertaining was Suze Orman's "Can I afford it?"

I'm not really sure why people call into these shows when they already know what the host is gonna say before they call.

Dave is always gonna say cut up the cards, sell the car, get a beater, and start delivering pizzas on the weekends.
