A lot of y’all listen to anything you see on the internet or tv. Imagine someone telling you not to incur debt to grow your income potential. In America. :mjlol:

Debt is almost essential in this country for the majority of people to come up. It’s not too many people who prosper financially without living like a cheapskate who don’t take on some sort of debt.

He's always been like this, he straight hates poor people. Will never acknowledge how privileged he's been and how many second chances he's been given after his own fukk-ups. I wanted to do a full-post exposal of him sometime cause a lot of the shyt he says is total bullshyt and straight comes from someone who can't imagine actual hardship or lack of opportunity in life.
You should make the post breh. He keeps telling people to only eat rice and beans to pay off debt.

:stopitslime:

Consumer Debt is only essential if you place consumerism above peace of mind.

Car loans and credit cards come to mind.

Dat double down :wow:

This is the same guy that didn't believe in COVID, had a Dave Ramsey cruise that he didn't scrap until the last minute when COVID took over, refers you to his investment buddies so you get "13% returns" on mutual funds, and refused to shut down his office/studio when an employee was tested positive. Just :scust:

But I have to admit, I listened to his podcast, watched his videos, and read his books, back in 2017. He has some great principles in terms of financial advice, but he's more geared towards people that can't save money to save their life and are in crippling debt.

Car loans are damn near essential. But I was talking about debt for education and real estate etc. Most people have to take on some form of debt to improve their circumstances.

I didn't think it was necessary but there actually posters supporting his bullshyt in general here?

Not surprised that several of them are from the TLR Trumper crew. :mjlol::mjlol:

Dave Ramsey is pretty much just another version of the Rich Dad Poor Dad guy. Just not racist like him (I think).
I don't know if he's said anything "racist", but at times he's made pretty clear that he doesn't believe in systematic racism or oppression and he's a "culturally conservative" white man from Tennessee. I've been told he treated Black camera very disrespectfully on multiple occasions.

Some of the things he says makes sense, but I know he damn sure didn’t get as rich as he is, just by following his own advice.
He's like every other financial grifter - first he went bankrupt, then he got rich selling financial advice. They're never independently rich before they sell the financial advice, otherwise they'd still be doing that instead of entering the advice grift market.

Nah, breh has given good financial advice before but he deserves to catch hands for this comment right here :stopitslime:...y'all gotta stop claiming someone is ALL bad because they say something stupid ...like a nikka saying a bytch ugly because she turned him down

This is more in line with how I feel about him. I admittedly haven't listened to him in years, but about 10-15 years ago I followed him and his advice pretty closely when debt was ruining my life. From my own personal experience, he was extremely beneficial in helping me become debt free, and I was about $35,000 - $40,000 in the hole between student loans, cc debt, and a car note. My anti-debt philosophy stems largely from him.

He was openly critical of the bankruptcy bill as I recall when it was happening in real time and went on record on Fox News openly shytting on those who supported it.

But I also know he's been a hypocrite regarding financial obligations, which is where he loses me mostly with his bullshyt moral high horses and Christian condemnations.

But to say alot of his advice isn't useful when the man has helped thousands of people avoid financial ruin is just silly.

He’s not right. I’m so tired of black people looking down on the poor when our community is the very definition of broke. Goofiest shyt I’ve ever seen.

:gucci:
Thank you for saying this, makes me cringe when I hear black people doing that

Dave is privileged and so out of touch with his ideology, only thing I agree with is staying out of debt

The guy is a fukking maniac. Reading how he treats his employees is frightening. Imagine coming to work unmarried but visibly showing signs of pregnancy and being fired for it. Imagine a guy waiving a gun around at an employee meeting but telling you he loves you all the while dictating how you can live your personal life. Imagine having to present a written budget to your employer of how you'll spend the money you earn from them. Imagine being fired for your spouses' Facebook post (who doesn't even work at your company).

Also his financial advice isn't good. I know a lot of poor people who let their consumer debt get out of hand find him and get told common sense stuff like get out of debt but his whole debt avoidance strategy is silly. It's all constructed like advice for addicts to always avoid their vice instead of come to learn how to deal with it and live with it. Debt isn't inherently bad. It shouldn't be avoided by default. Credit card debt is however inherently bad. Other forms of debt can improve people's lives however.

I'm big on not going into "bad" debt.

However, can't someone use the same argument, against tax cuts, for middle and working class families as the savings amounts are almost the same as the stimulus?

"If you need an extra $1400 in tax cuts them your life was already shytty"

Dave Ramsey wasn't saying a thing when Republicans came thru with that Trump tax cut that added trillions to the national deficit.

This is their playbook.

Money for all their rich friends when they're in power. Clutching their pearls when someone gets $600.
