I worked with an international company with their headquarters in Germany.
Every summer, the team in Germany would send out an email informing the other branches they would be out for the next 20 - 30 days and they would connect us with whatever temps would be filling in for them and even those temps were on a very part time and limited responsibility basis.
That 20 - 30 days off was completely separate from the paid holidays they got off throughout the year.

Meanwhile, the US loves the 8+ hour work days and arguing about paid holidays.
Let 'Merica tell it, and they'd have you believe that everyone else is socialist and no one outside of the The US owns a home, land, business, or their own cars.

One of the downsides of moving from the UK/europe

That time to enjoy your holiday and rest and recuperate. :banderas:

I only got 9 days annual leave when I started my job in Canada.

Negotiated to 15 that plus taking holidays round long weekends is a nice tradeoff.
