look breh, everybody makes mistakes. Don't judge me man, I was young. I was hanging out with the wrong crowd. One thing led to another and before you know it, I'm watching Jets games with emotional attachment.

Not true...I'm first generation and my parents are Trini, they could give a flying fukk about any American sport. In fact they only cheer for the teams I cheer for cause they know I'm a big Yankees and Giants fan.

You just become a fan of the team you like. When I was younger both of the baseball teams were trash but the Mets had one in 86 so they had the juice. I just decided to become a Yankees fans. As for the Giants, yet again I don't know why maybe because I like the color blue but I repped for the Giants.

I'm first gen too. I'd say most immi 80s babies would be yanks/giants just based off history. Only mets fans I know are either from queens, or white. But if your fam been here for a minute, they'd definitely influence your loyalty.

Never a fan persay since I havent watched bball since Jordan(Brooklyn nikka, straight out ta bed study) retired, but i did follow them back in the kidd/carter/jefferson championship runs. Never was a Knicks fan.

But of course now that they're Brooklyn's own, gotta rep hard

sheeiit, when I starte watching the Yankees in like 89 they were terrible & only had Don Mattingly. He made me a fan as a kid because of his D & swing mostly.

And I started watching the football Giants during the Dave Brown era...nuff said. I just liked Strahan, Armstead, Keith Hamilton, Phillippi Sparks on defense mostly. I liked Chris Calloway but they could never get him the ball.

YES! Him and later on Dan campbell, kerry and them 2000 superbowl!

If you in NYC. Usually people form Queens borough tend to like the Mets because thats where they are located. Manhattan/Bronx often gravitate towards the Yankees because the Yankees are located in the BX.


As for football. I guess if you are older and you tend to be more of a Jets fan because of Namath. Giants werent really good until late 90's. Dave Brown as a QB

Started watching the Giants back when I was a kid in '89. My dad and brother were fans so I'm sure that was an influence. Didn't start watching baseball until around '92 or '93. Both teams in NY sucked back then, I was drawn to the Mets mostly cause of the blue/orange combo (thought pinstripes looked ugly) and the first baseball I went to was a Mets game. Noticed that older generations and/or people from the Bronx and Queens/LI respectively tend to follow the traditional Yankees/Giants, Mets/Jets pattern.

I hate the Yankees with a passion, didn't realize the arrogance and entitlement of that organization and their fans when they made the playoffs in '95. I was glad to see Griffey and co. shyt on them. I've wanted the Jets to do well until Rex Ryan became their coach. Can't really stand people who talk shyt without backing it up and I hate how Woody is so desperate for headlines and media attention. Those loser ass fakkits wouldn't have traded for Tebow if we didn't win the Super Bowl.

The bolded is incorrect. The Giants are the established football team of NY. Fanbase goes back generations. And gtfoh about not being good until the late 90s. We were one of the better teams in the NFL from the mid '80s to early '90s. (won SBs in '86 and '90) Dave Brown was some garbage tho.
