Kids stand the best chance of getting all of that when they have happy and loving parents. and when you do it this way you keep your relationship with your spouse intact along the way.
When your relationship with your spouse is the #1 priority in your life it works out for everyone. The kids get happy and loving parents providing them a great environment and an example of a fully functional loving relationship between 2 adults.
Once your kids are grown and long gone with families of their own, who do you think you're gonna be getting old and dying with? Your spouse. Why wouldn't you put them #1?
