AZ - Doe or Die 3 (Discussion Thread)

This is EXACTLY what I would want from this album. Waaaay better than I expected.

I think thats been the problem with his music
Production is dated
Az needs to get with a dope producer who can choose better beats and help him with song structures and hooks
His verses are immaculate no issue
I like Uniqueness and the Nas joint so Fly cool but most these joints mid to terrible
Album is weak to me

almost same for me. Its not weak to me, it's just ok. A spitting as always, but it "sounds" (production) boring on first two play throughs. I gotta live with it tho....a lot of albums grow on me over time.

I want to hear AZ over shyt he's always rhymed over. He's not going to get any new 20 year old fans.

AZ is frustating to listen to. I been listening to all of his output post-The Format, which is kind of the line of demarcation in his career. I want to hear that AZ sound over some evolved shyt from the mid 90s era, he got pre King's Disease-Nas ear. Like i said in another thread he'd be perfect with Rick Ross type production.

The majority of the time in rap: *insert classic album title* 2, 3, etc ends up being nowhere near the original. It's the same with DoD 2 and 3.

This album fa sho had some standouts but once again I'm disappointed in AZ smh

Man this album is so smooth, while thing rides. This is vintage AZ but it still sounds fresh. He sounds a lot more sharper and focused on this album as well, a step above "Doe or Die 2" in my opinion.

I went in not knowing who produced what and the one track i left on reply for damn near 20 minutes was Fresh Water, I fukk with all the beats but Bink is special I can't even explain his production, I just wish the vocals were a lillllll bit higher

Nas is having one freaking incredible feature run on these Mass Appeal records

Granted I dont even remember if i listened to Undeniable or not but TO ME there is no way AWOL is not a top 5 AZ album, absolutley love that record, my personal favorite from his catalog
