Azie Faison-Crack the Mack

Azie Faison was one of the most notorious and prolific crack dealers of the 80s. He had Harlem on lock and was making $40,000 to $100,000 off sales at his peak. After almost being killed in a robbery of his stash house on '87, Azie retired from the drug game and began to try and steer the youth from the drug game. Azie created the group Mobstyle and his life was the basis for the film Paid in Full.

This is one of the songs from Faison's 1991 debut which I must say has production beyond its time. Nas gets praised for rapping as a gun in "I Gave You Power", Faison rapped as if he were crack in this song. This beat is on some James Brown sh*t and Azie is just slowly flowing and spitting truth.

That's how I learned about this dude, that is one hell of a documentary. I suggest people check it out. Azie asked for a custom made Louis Vuitton bulletproof vest!

Yeah. Azie sued for 10 million, I think he only got 450K though. This was bad for AZ because this was right after Doe or Die his most successful album which is a classic to me. Sugar Hill was his most successful single. Azie sued him because of his name AZ and because Sugar Hill was about a retired drug dealer and Sugar Hill was the section of Harlem where Azie was from. What a coincidence?

This documentary is kinda hard to find....But u have gold if u find it.....it has a video to Crack The Mack......There's a scene where they are doing auditions for Paid In Full and they have Nas auditioning for the Alpo character.....He was terrible. All the while I was wondering ' how did Nas do this audition when its Dames movie and he wasn't really cool with The Roc' around that time?".....
