First off that dude confessing is a demon. And his friend who took 115 years for him is a moron.
Gangs are cancer. Dude said he did it for the hood and he was standing on business. He still want to justify his actions even though he is now haunted by them and that's why he is confessing. He is living with nightmares for what he has done. His soul has a price on it and he can't live with his action anymore.
Don't be so sure. This is like when G Dep confessed to a murder. Some shyt will eat you alive if you don't unburden yourself. Whatever conscious that man has is killing him and he has a great amount of internal turmoil. Don't let the composure fool you.
