Man, can you honestly say cats were checking for Cypress because of B Real? It was all image(smokin' and etc) and production.

Yeah Chubb may have been inconsistent album wise but in the 90's breh was a high caliber/versatile emcee. Crooklyn Dodgers > kill a man and hand on the pump:manny:

I do actually think he meant to diss Cypress, but he had no problem mentioning names, breh even sent jabs at Cube.

As weird as it might seem, people fukked with everything about Cypress Hill... particularly in that '91-'93 time period, it was about the voice and delivery, it wasn't like nikkas were sayin' "yeah man, I don't fukk with the nikka rappin' but THEM BEATS though!" about Cypress. The fact that he sounded hella different was part of their appeal, along with the production.

And if we're gonna be really real, the voice and delivery was what people liked about Chubb too... he wasn't ever one of the "best"/top tier type MFs, he was dope and made dope songs we enjoyed, but that's as far as I can really go in comparison to who else was out there during his era. I'm not downplayin' him at all, but in real time? It wasn't that deep, especially by the mid-late 90s with that stuff some of the dudes in here are hypin' (that wasn't even his prime). And as much as I like the Crooklyn '95 joint... that thing did not hit nearly as hard as "How I Could Just Kill A Man" did... again, speaking about real time. It's not even a match now, except to the demographic who act like nothing in hip-hop was worth mentioning until '94 :russ:

I don't know who the fukk was outside in fukking 91..lol cus nikka only old ass motherfukkers in they 50 probably.

Well then don't speak on things in 1991. :dahell:

Everyone on this board wanna claim to be young but speak as if they have first hand knowledge of things from 30 years ago.

It doesn't matter if they were checking for Cypress specifically because of B-Real. It's a group.

But yeah, people were quoting B-Real's verses and/or hooks when I was in high school.
You're acting like "Hand On The Pump" and "How I Could Just Kill A Man" ain't iconic hip-hop songs. :gucci:

You're acting like Erick Sermon didn't sample B-Real on Redman's debut. :gucci:

People fukked with Cypress music as a whole, more than Chubb Rock. By a wide margin too. Chubb Rock was the guy you went to for a couple solid songs and/or guest spots. Nobody was checking for his albums like that.

I get that and its facts, but im talking in terms of an emcee. Thread started off in regards to disses. If it popped off B Real was not going to see Chubb on the mic. Im only pressing a bit further because it seems as if Chubb is a bit underrated in this discussion.

lol they would get inside my mothers car and in her purse and they would travel like that. lol. i still see these motherfukkers they are the little ones, but have grown bigger threw the years and i spent so long trying to kill these fukking things.. I was the only one cleaning our apartment between my mom and brothers father. And i would clean real good but they still will come back no matter if they dirty the place or not.. They where just nasty people they still are. I put 7 bombs in the fukking house they would come from holes in the walls and shyt from every where i would buy bug spray to try to kill them nothing bro.. One time i put 7 bomb and i had to go to my house with my friend and i had told him what i had done with these fukking roach's. We walk in and bust out laughing when we see like 3 roach in the fukking roof just chilling trying to get away from all the poison in the air..lol motherfukkers gave me a hard time. I don't know how the people there got rid of them.. The worst bug I ever did see... They would multiple so fast.. Like i would see them giving birth and like 50 little fukking roach's would run out of one.. fukking motherfukkers.

peace to yall though.. i was fukking 7 in 91..lol tho i remember insane in the brain like pick it up type same off that shyt..

Chubb Rock ranks absolutely nowhere as a lyricist. And I don’t give a fukk whether you give a fukk where I’m from. Nobody ever discussed Chubb Rock or his albums as anything worth shyt. nikka had a couple party jams and that was that.
