Outside of being a teenager and immature myself, I have never experienced the disrespect from Black women some of you are talking about. Sisters in public are either apathetic up to very polite towards me. I have not been cursed at nor given the stank eye.

This is not to say that what any of you experience is not the truth, but I do have to question which sort of sisters you guys interact with and in what manner are you guys interacting with them? So per se, are you being respectful towards them yourself? Are you giving out what you expect to be received back in? If not, then the disrespect you receive is really a reflection of the disrespect you give out.

The same can be said to women making this complaint too, so the issue is not a gender one by a human one.

I will answer your questions. In a nutshell, I have experienced some negative experiences with Brehettes during the course of my life.

Said experiences varied from person to person. But, I came to the conclusion that a person can only treat you how you allow them to treat you.

Therefore, at this stage in my life, I adopted a zero tolerance for any type of disrespect from people. Being a woman, Black women, non-Black women or a man Black/non-Black, makes no difference w/ me.

If I have to act right and treat people right, then I expect the same courtesy from others.

Non negotiable!
