The game and players are different. Cy Young wouldn't get 511 wins in this era because there are middle relief pitchers and closers. There were no radar guns back then so honestly its no telling how hard the ball was being thrown. Players today are bigger strong and faster as well. That play Willie Mays made by catching the ball over his back was considered a feet back then but now its a routine out for the most part. I take stats from back then with a grain of salt.

If Babe Ruth played in todays era, he'd put up more or less the same stats. First off, all those pics you see of him fat and out of shape were later in his career, he was only a little overweight in his prime. Dude was 6'2 200-215 through most of his career. In those days that was huge, but he would be still be pretty big in todays game. actually prototypical. Also with advanced medicine and training regimens, he would still do well but baseball relies the least on traditional concepts of athleticism in relation to hand eye coordination and timing. In short, he would still be an elite player.
