Demonic zoo. They dont believe in nature. The humans probably had their hands all over the baby when it came out. They've probably been torturing the elephant. What do they think is going to happen when they take an animal out of its habitat and lock it in a cage. Prison is not good for any beast.

Depression from being locked in a cage for years and hit with sticks so it bends to the will of the zoo keepers. Animals have a different code and system. Lets not attribute human characteristics to animals. Do you swoop in to protect the praying mantis when it decides to eat the man it procreated with? I doubt it.
