He might not get time(depending on where he's at) but if he get that possession with intent charge, his life isn't going to be easy with a record. If he is in NYC, and they catch him with baggies, and/or a scale, he is getting that charge, and that's a felony. He probably won't do time but he will get that record.

I think we tend to accept the problems that come with having a record so a lot of people just play it lazy. If you play the game, you don't want any charges, and if you do, you try to get the lesser of the charges. Being black or latin with a record, will always come back to haunt you. If you want to see the world, your record may hinder you. If you want a high paying position, or a position that has a lot of authority, your record may hinder you. Just because you don't do time, doesn't mean things will be easy after you get that record. If you are going to play, play with paranoia, and all your intelligence, regardless if it is weed or harder drugs.
