School is trash but at the same time...when do you think is the last time mom spoke with a teacher, asked about grades, did any basic follow up with anyone? Not knowing your 17 year old child is going back to 9th grade is a parental failure of epic magnitude.

This isn’t a college kid, away from home and not going to class until he gets kicked out. That’s a child, under your roof. In four years of high school you never found out your kid is doing so poorly he can’t even be passed with a failing grade?

Best bet is to probably get your GED at 18 and keep it pushing. From there you can do the military, college, trade school etc
