Baltimore City student passes 3 classes in four years, ranks near top half of class with 0.13 GPA

I work as a teacher now so f the mom for not having any accountability. As a teacher, we have sometimes hundreds of students and your son didn’t even bother to come. If students show, then half the battle is won and most teachers will make an initiative to get them out of there (pass them). Schools are CYA (cover your a**) so she’s been notified but wants to grandstand and play victim. He mind as well go the GED route.

However, the school does have some explaining to do. How the freak is a student with a 0.13 GPA a top 50% student. That’s the most blaring thing.

The mom is blaming the school for everything like its THEIR fault HER son is a dumbass. Even dumbasses can get a diploma. She literally just didn't give a shyt about her sons education. That's 100% on her.

How do you allow that as a parent?

Mom shouldn't be complaining when it's clear that school was just a free babysitter for her. She said she knew he was failing but assumed everything was all good because they weren't holding him back.

This is partly why we are where we are. When you let white institutions such as the public school system raise your child albeit a poor job doing so.

bruh it’s Baltimore I’m sure it’s a black school district...just like Detroit, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Jackson, Atlanta, DeKalb County, Clayton County, etc.

Private schools and academies are more of white institutions

My HS, even good athletes with 65 or 68's in a class would have to sit out (no pass, no play). People flunked even as far back as middle school. Had 16 year olds in the 8th grade and 18 year olds in 10th.

Failure on the school’s part. Bet if that was a rich white private school, it would’ve got nipped in the bud back in 9th grade but, they don’t care about black kids in the inner city and just past them on. Whatever happens later happens. The mom should’ve been more attentive obviously but, I have some pity for her knowing she’s a single mom working three jobs. Kid gonna have to do night school and get a GED.
