:blessed:

Dropped a bomb in the press conference this morning!

They've had their own independent investigation going since this all started. NOBODY thought they were this far along. Homicide and internal affairs were in on it too. The charges make it sound like a lot more than him getting bounced around the inside of a van.

:ohhh:

Aye hold up. Chill with the victory lap right now. As we know the white supremacists aren't just the cops, they're in the juries and the court rooms and everywhere else in the legal process.

As black folks we are too eager to celebrate shyt before anything tangible happens. Wait until these cops get convicted and sent away before we go crazy with cheering.

The 300 man march leader was just on TV with white guys and he said all groups will be represented in the next march. Let's see unity come out of this horrible situation. :salute: to him for bringing a community together.

Baltimore State’s Attorney Rules Freddie Gray’s Death a Homicide; Warrants Filed to Arrest 6 Officers

Maryland State Attorney for the city of Baltimore Marilyn Mosby announced on Friday morning that 25-year-old Freddie Gray‘s death in police custody was ruled a homicide by the medical examiner, and that there is probable cause to file charges against six officers involved.

Charges include second-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter, and assault, Mosby said. The driver of the police van was charged with second-degree murder, while three officers were charged with involuntary manslaughter. Other officers were charged with assault.

Mosby also said there was no probable cause for Gray’s “illegal” arrest, and that Gray medical help multiple times but was ignored “in a grossly negligent manner.” She also called on protesters to maintain the peace in Baltimore and nationwide: “I heard your call for ‘no justice, no peace’ and I need you to deliver peace.”

This announcement comes demonstrations in Baltimore became violent earlier in the week, and have since spread to other cities including New York and Philadelphia.

The Washington Post reported this week that another prisoner in the police van said Gray was banging against the walls of the van in an effort to injure himself. That claim, however, was later disputed by another prisoner. Mosby’s announcement seems to contradict those reports, as well as a WJLA oneclaiming the medical examiner had determined Gray’s injuries were sustained when he “slammed into the back of the police transport van.”

Mosby described the details of Gray’s arrest, including how he was not put in a seatbelt as is required. She also said the knife Gray was carrying was not a switchblade, and is legal under Maryland law. She also echoed Baltimore Police Cap. Eric Kowalczyk, who announced on Wednesday that the findings of the investigation will not be released to the public. Mosby said the evidence “cannot ethically be released to the public.”

According to Mosby, the charges were filed this morning, and was not able to say whether the officers were in custody. Onlookers cheered and applauded after she read her statement and answered questions from the media.

According to the Associated Press, the Baltimore police union believes the six officers involved were not responsible for Gray’s death and were “diligent.”

Elijah Cummings just held a GOAT press conference. Strait truth. Wish I had a congressman like him. Man is like Jon Lewis, living legend. Very poignant to hear him speak about this situation.

Exactly. I'm glad that she decided to charge them but this is only one small step. They still have to be arraigned and have a preliminary hearing and the Court agree to charge them or have a grand jury agree to charge them and obviously a jury to find them guilty then lastly sentence them appropriately. Thats alot of white supremacy that will have tons of opportunities to corrupt it. I don't just want them charged. I want them prosecuted, found guilty and sentenced harshly for the murder of an innocent man otherwise its just a pyrrhic victory thats a borderline consolation prize.

:scust: :why: Hold up.....Did anyone catch the quote Obama c00n ass stated..............

“All the evidence needs to be presented,” Obama said. “Those individuals who are charged, obviously, are also entitled to due process and rule of law. And so I want to make sure that our legal system runs the way it should.”

This shyt rings like he really wants these officers to get off...............

President HAS to say that. It's considered prosecutorial bias (can't remember the exact legal term) if the President comes out and says anything about something under indictment "looking guilty". He could actually cause a mistrial or charges to be dropped.

Think a cac DA like in Ferguson wouldve prosecuted? This is why voting matters. Small steps but important ones.
It's a black woman from the area and her husband is a city councilman....

After reading the charges again she didn't charge them with shyt.
