Is he talking about black women in general or black women with criminal records? You might be able to get in a nursing school, but you definitely won't be able to get a nursing license with a criminal record.

I don’t know, I don’t live in Baltimore. If you live in the area, follow him on Twitter, ask him on Twitter or in person at his next event. :hubie:

I don't live in bmore anymore, but I go there to visit family, so I know of some of the issues with the city.

I'd like to see what he plans to do about the crime. The corruption and awarding of contracts looks good to constituents and businesses respectively, but he needs a plan to address the crime.

More opportunity for the youth of the city through trade schools or focusing on IT courses for high school students since it appears you don't need a degree to make good money in IT.

Then he needs something in place for the brothers that get released from prison that have a record. Give incentives to businesses for hiring and retaining felons as employees. We wouldn't want them hiring them and then firing them within a year so they can still get the benefit of hiring the felon now would we. Something so they don't feel like crime is their only option. Of course, this depends on the severity of the felony.

He honestly needs to find a way to recruit police while he's attacking corruption. The problem with corruption is that it's systemic. Policies won't change corruption. They need to do some serious psychological testing on these officers after they've been on the force a couple years to make sure they aren't losing it. A lot of cops have an "us vs. them (criminals, citizens, blacks)" mentality and that causes the problems. Also, the corruption sinks from the top down like whale shyt, so the politicians need to get put on notice too.

He also needs to find a way to get blacks with "good jobs" and that have money back into the city. Improving the school system needs to be a top priority after the crime is addressed. People with kids will come if the schools get better and they're more likely to stay after graduating if the jobs are there.

The same requests you said on here, forward that to your fam who still live in B-More, and tell them to bring that up at Kofi’s next event.

I don’t live in the city, but it seems like he wants to do right to the residents. For all those, who have questions, go to his events and bring up your questions/concerns, because I’m sure he’s willing to work w/ y’all. :hubie:
