the bank reimbursed ALL of the money. same thing happened when TARGET got hacked, they preemptively cancelled our cards and sent out new ones.

I used that as an example of why you need cash it 2019 bc it was the only story with details included in the OP. I didn't feel like reeling off a list of things large sums of cash is needed for. Not everything or everybody wants checks or electronic transactions. Its not just for "drugs and prostitutes".
