He hasn't done anything c00nish in this tenure. That word is used so wrong it's painful.
It doesn't change what people claim he's done, but it gives you a great perspective on what he really thinks. It doesn't matter how pro black you are, you can not be President of the United States and think you'll be able go off like you did in 95. Too much political nonsense with the House, Senate, Congress as a whole, and the opposing party that forces you to adjust. I think he adjusted well honestly. He could have over adjusted and been a legit c00n.
That's the problem. When he became president he started campaigning for other people instead of us because sadly, black people do not have the same pull as they used to. There's a mythology of a post-racial america that many black and white people have bought into, so when it comes to putting in work on legislation that will prevent us from getting shot in the street, legislation to combat racial profiling in police(stop and frisk for example), and other legal methods of suppressing us, he has been silent.
Latinos had his full support for the dream act, and he selected a latin supreme court justice(Sonya Sotomayor)
LGBTs had his support with Don't Ask Don't Tell repeal, public support of same-sex unions, and the selection of a possibly gay supreme court justice(Elena Kagan)
Got some support from Jewish people with his selection of Kagan as well.
What did we get? Under his watch?
-A black professor was arrested trying to get into his own home. Obama spoke the truth and was forced to backpedal(The officer acted stupidly)
-A black youth was shot down in his own neighborhood. His response was for people to remain calm and hoped that an investigation would be conducted.
-A black man was essentially lynched by the police and as people expressed their anger through rioting, again he essentially told us to just calm down.
-Millions of dollars spent on drone programs that kill innocents in foreign countries while schools are still literally falling apart in DC and other areas with a lot of black people.
He goes to black events and he tells us that it's all essentially on us to change our situation, appearing remarkably out of touch. It is all on us, but it's not like he's arguing economic empowerment, advocating for grants and afterschool programs, community organization etc. It's okay to criticise him, he's not beyond reproach.
I think black people who are upset can at least take solace in the fact that he laid the groundwork, and that it's possible for one of us to do it. Maybe the next black president will do more for us.
