Above the fray.
RSS and OECS does a lot with climate/natural disaster relief. Dominica and St. Vincent are members. they are more integrated than the rest of the Caribbean.

there's a lot of politics, historic, cultural, and logistical reasons on why more integration is very far away in the Caribbean.

Absolutely no one in the Caribbean wants Haitians to have free movement to their countries. or Cuban/Dominican migration either.

I support regional integration but there's many practical hurdles that people outside the region generally aren't aware of.
Yes

This is a step in the right direction.
Forward thinking, proactive leaders are needed now more than ever in the Caribbean, the rest of the diaspora, and on the continent. Making practical decisions and agreements.

If Haiti had any kind of leadership the past 3 decades, we would be positioned to fill in the looming worker shortagr gaps across the Caribbean. But, corruption and incompetence by successive administrations have fukked that up. And it directly lead to the chaos that exists right now.

When Caricom countries backed the international plan to send troops and stabilize Haiti, some misguided dudes were repeating nonsense about them being "puppets to imperialism". Not realizing that a stable Haiti benefits the entire region, and prevents a migrant crisis to their countries.

*Also not following the fact that Caricom has been trying to negotiate compromises between the different political factions since Moise was killed. And the different sides wouldnt budge, even in crisis situation.

The vagabon element of Haitians have showed their ass in Turks and Caicos recently, with an unprecedented violence and homicide flareup, and will eventually lead to us being booted out of there.

I’ve never been to Barbados, Dominica nor St. Vincent.
:ohhh:
My daughters and I got our Belizean citizenship within the last two years. We didn’t get our passports yet though. “Technically”, I shouldn’t have one due to “whatever”. I may work on my girls this year though.
:wow:
We tried getting the Wifey her citizenship but they said she needs to be in the country for a year first.
:martin:
Wifey keep half stepping when it comes to leaving the US. The way America seems to be headed though….

If Japan don’t work out Belize might be it.

I do think there is a rational fair aversion to foreign intervention in Haiti given the history

But I don’t know what else could help at this point.

Bahamas and Turks are very anti Haitian. Migration is a serious issue in the Caribbean regime —- specifically with Venezuelans and Haitians

Most Caribbean people in general are anti-Haitian.

My family is Jamaican, and trust me, most Jamaicans do NOT want Haitians migrating to Jamaica.

TYRONE GA!
Im heading to Barbados in a couple months, and my ancestors are from there, so I might need to look into this. Time to buy some property over there and set up shop.

My Paternal Grandma mother from there. So I def wanna check it out. Doesn't sound like a bad idea looking at property either. :patrice:

So what's the status with the Caribbean islands reporting travel movements of citizens to Uncle Sam & did they kick out the Cuban medical personnel to satisfy Washington ?

My paternal grandparents are from there as well. I have been twice and this is my 3rd trip. Love it out there. My family and I have already been looking into buying property there for years.

This is a good first step. There needs to be one super country

Giving up national sovereignty isn't something most people want, breh. Even small Caribbean islanders are proud of their countries independence and individuality.
