That ain't shyt. I pay between 22 and 25 plus tax and tip. That's not even with a shave.

I don't go to the barber often only in the summer. I can maintain my hair in the winter by myself. I cut my hair for 10 years straight until recently.

I was in a bind for an event and my barber was out. Not a lot of barbers besides the Dominicans nearby and it was late so I knew I wouldn't be able to go to my old dude.

I made the mistake of listening to my girl, telling me there's a barber near her job not that far away thats opened late.

Rican dudes but the space looked Williamsburg hipster status which should've been my first hint. They had a French bulldog puppy running around which should've been my 2nd hint. The whole set up was extra but the dude giving the cut was hood as shyt around the way type so I gave the benefit of the doubt.

My cut is a low ass fade with a part and somewhere along the lines the nikka adjusted the back of the seat, swung the chair around and my head and over a fukkin sink.

He washed my hair bruh. Never in my life. I immediately realized I was gonna regret this cut. He pulled out a hair dryer bruh. It was one of the most garbage ass cuts I've had in my life but he all this other shyt let me know this was gonna hit my pocket.

When he was done I asked what was the damage and the nikka said $60.

I didn't have the cash on me so I was like oh let me get an ATM I don't got the money on me and I was ready to dip and not come back and he said its cool and pulled out a fukkin iPad or something with a card reader

I nearly cried real tears that night. That shyt calculated tax and a preferred tip and everything. I had too much pride to not handle it like it was nothing to spend.

I saw my girl later that night like and she was rollin. She quickpaid me the difference and felt bad about it cuz she didn't know that's how they got down.

Bout 2 days later I went to the Dominican to fix my shyt and I swear he hit some with the when he was done.

Never again. Never again.

Barbers and Daycare are some of the biggest hustles around. I tell people that and they look at me like I'm crazy.

$500 a month(or more) for a child and they're drinking Capri Sun and eating fruit for lunch.

Learn how to use a guard with your clippers. If you order them they are called attachments. Some clippers you buy come with a set. They're in different lengths. 1/8'' 1/16'' 3/8'' 1/2'' and longer.

It controls the length your hair is cut. You literally can't mess up and if you use them enough you figure out how a taper works, which isn't the rocket science many make it out to be but you need patience to learn it. If you can afford to shell out 40 dollars a cut then go ahead. I could certainly fit that in my budget but I'll be damned. Some things people really should learn to do for themselves. But I'm not trying to throw salt on barbers. A good amount of them are amazing at what they do. But they'd need to be outstanding for me to shell out 50 dollars for something I can do for myself.
