My previous boxing coach has fought in that league
Saw him sparribg a twelve year old and he started doing the rope a dope and got tagged like 6 or 8 times with flush hooks and uppercuts, sweat was flying off the back of his head. These weren’t light sparring shots
At that very moment decided then and there not to continue with my boxing gym membership, currently looking for new gyms but don’t wanna drive an hour 3 times a week for a 1 hour training session
But not gonna be trained by someone that uses their head as a heavy bag … at the end of the day you know he was just doing that so the next time he’s in the ring he can think (and/or say) “I know 12 year olds that hit harder than this guy”
Ya bro, you’re in there letting your head become desensitized to concussive blows directly to it, and from an array of angles … with no meaningful defense exhibited, in sparring… how is the kid gonna learn that way?
