I have no faith in the Democratic Party to exercise power. But I would be extremely pleased if the Democrats won in 2026 and held Libya gate type hearings everyday for two straight years starting with ICE, DOJ and general corruption.

In 2016, they refused to hold hearings for a year arguing that a new Judge should not be appointed in an election year.

But in 2020, they nominated Barrett two months before the election.

I think politicians are rightfully wary of becoming a country where officials are prosecuted when they get out of power. Even if Dems do prosecutions on a reasonable basis, Repubs will take that as precedent to go apeshyt.

And its also sketchy that the Defense Secretary is ordering that everyone be killed on an alleged drug boat without evidence that there is additional threat to the US. I think there may end up being grounds to prosecute Hegseth.

Bro they went apeshyt. The only reasons they aren’t doing trials is because the democrats didn’t break laws. The republicans are ignoring every rule they can, using every loophole, and have openly said they want to make Trump a King of that let’s them keep power.

I know all of that

But there is some hardcore criminality going on and at this point you have to do something to scare the next group from being criminals. The public needs to know that law applies to everyone and so far letting the opposite–doing nothing–has brought us here.

People need to not be able to earn an income after these acts.
