I think the only thing that really separates these two is Chucks versatility so I'm taking him. My opinion is prolly bias though cuz he's my favorite player ever and I hated Malone

first of all, Jordan came back during the Rockets 2nd championship but lost in playoffs bc he didnt have Grant or a Grant like player. And without Jordan, the Bulls still won 55 games. Of course they didnt win but that wasnt because Jordan himself was gone; It was they lost an Allstar player and didnt replace him with another Allstar player. Had the Bulls added another Allstar player when the lost Jordan, then they would have won Championships without him
Charles never played with someone on the level of Stockton till he got with KJ, but guards like Mo Cheeks, Hersey Hawikins, and Johnny Dawkins weren't the worst guys in the world either. But a guy like Stockton would have gotten him so many more easier buckets like he did for Malone.
