Had some good memories at this store. I used to be hype as a lil kid when my Mama would take me there for the day :mjcry:

Going to Barnes and Noble is more than just about going to get a physcial book. It's about the experience of wandering the hallways, sitting down to read something that catches your eye, hanging out and meeting up with friends, etc.

The store itself just has this serene atmosphere that makes you feel at peace. To me it almost feels like an escape from reality, a place where I can go in and temporarily forget about any troubles I got in the outside world

As far as the battle between E-Books and physical copies is concerned, there's one thing that an E-Book will never have over a physical one. A physical book can age and become part of history itself, making it more valuable. Throw in the ability to write signatures and other notes in a book and you can literally hold history in your hands.

Start fukking with the independent book stores. I got a spot I go to out in West Chester called Baldwin’s. It’s in a barn. It’s chill as hell. I be in there for hours finding books.

They fired almost all their full time workers on Monday. This was one of the best places I worked at. Got me through my college years :mjcry: They fired damn near everybody. Amazon our here slaughtering retail stores :picard:

Its retails fault, they never really adapted enough only, Amazon came in and fixed everything wrong
"it takes to long" sure hows same day? Sit your ass home we are even quicker than getting to a store
Amazon pricing, shipping, return policy everything.

In any decent society, Amazon would be put in check real quick. Break up the banks applies to overreaching mega-companies too.

Google gobbles up google like entitiies. Google does not gobble up your local grocery store, the taxis, the new food company that delivers meals you can cook...

Amazon is fukking evil.

Amazon is a perfect reflection of our society. Fast, easy and cheap(er). But like all large companies there will inevitably be some sort of backlash, not to mention competition from other established companies with far more experience in the industries into which Amazon seeks to encroach.

I think Amazon's end game is to be a distributor that can compete against and defeat FedEx/UPS/USPS. That's what their infrastructure decisions hint at.

The funny things Blockbuster was vastly superior in retrospect.
I can never find the new release or the old classic at netflx anymore. Want that Thor: Ragnorok When it comes out. Blockbuster would've had it, Netflix naw son because all the film companies can do their own streaming site. We should've never hopped on the stream train. Now instead paying 4 dollars for 3 nights on a brand new move. I gotta pay 20 a month for a bunch of trash i aint interested in watching.

Redbox is worse. a popular movie is guaranteed to be out of stock for weeks until everybody has seen it. No backlog of classic movies whatsoever.
ANd the prices on both are now more than a 5 day blockbuster rental.

I know it's a but off topic but you're right. New releases will be out at Redbox sometimes in multiple locations and they don't carry much of a selection outside movies released in the past 6-12 months. Blockbuster had nearly everything.
